DUME DUME Part 1

Let's get straight into this and talk about this amazing label Dume Dume!

We recently came across some of their beautiful pieces on Asos Marketplace. They were so inspiring and the models looked so beautiful and natural! We were so inspired that we wanted to be part of this empowering movement. Dume Dume is passionate about women and introducing diversity which is a great ethic to have which we feel a lot of brands lack as they normally go for models with the same look.

Jacqueline Ntephe is the Creative Director and Designer of Dume Dume. She has done an amazing job and continues to inspire with her unique sophisticated, Nigerian inspired pieces.

This is Part 1 of our collaboration with Dume Dume and we decided to combine two outfit choices in one post just to give some diversity with looks.

It's time to let the photos do the talking!

Which look would you rock?

One Year Hairversary Giveaway!!!!

CELEBRATIONS ALL ROUND!!!!

It has officially been a year since I started my Natural Short Hair Journey and I have never been so happy and confident.

September 2016 I looked in the mirror and noticed how thin my hair was. It was a mess! And I was so distraught because previously I had made a conscious effort to have healthier hair and my hair was gaining length. I got to know my hair a lot in 2016 and figured out what it liked and didn't like.

Now, I have always wanted to cut my hair but was too chicken to do it. This time last year, I was going through a lot and I was beyond the point of caring. Hair was hair. It will grow back. The way I saw it was if I cut my hair, would that make me any less of a woman? Would that magically make me a bad person? Undesirable to society's standards?

NO!

I ended up doing a lot of research and came across Cut Throat London salon in Peckham, called them, booked and appointment, showed up and VOILA! Haircut A LA FLEEK!

If you would like to find out more about my experience, I did a post called 'BRUH MY FADE IS BETTER THAN YOURS'

A year on I feel more empowered, confident and beautiful because I defined my own standard of beauty!

NOW I AM GIVING YOU THE CHANCE TO DEFINE YOUR OWN UNIQUE BEAUTY!

Clothes Over People has decided to team up with Cut Throat London Salon to give one lucky winner a free haircut at their Peckham or newly opened salon in Brixton.

Bad&Boujee

If this post doesn't scream *BAD&BOUJEE* to you, I don't know what will. All I know is a "Bad Chick" doesn't have to have a PHAT ASS, SLIM WAIST, WEAR REVEALING CLOTHES, NAILS DONE, HAIR DONE, EVERYTHING DONE....Sometimes it's just a good woman with great dress sense ;)

Disclaimer: there is nothing wrong with the above qualities but there is no set definition for that term

Women come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and WE need to start embracing that because if we body shame ourselves and fellow females, we are giving males permission to body shame us even more.

Think about it SIS!

Outfit Deets:

We decided to do a lot of Colour Blocking with our outfits this summer. Co-ordinates are great and making your own co-ordinates is even more fun. Try it!

We recently went Thrift Shopping in East End Thrift Store and Tarina got her hands on this bomb red vintage Bomber Jacket and that set the tone for her whole outfit. She paired the look with a Bikini Top she got from Missguided last year and a bodycon skirt from Primark that she got from my hand me downs.

What staples this look are these sick red tinted glasses from Asos, the shape of the frames are just....Boujee. And there you have it, Bad & Boujee.

Does it look like she was left off  Bad & Boujee?
